Michael Murphy

Junior Designer

Michael Murphy grew up in Encinitas, CA and has had a longtime passion for design. His passion started from a young age by building LEGO, but it really took off in high school after taking a class on architecture. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s in architecture in 2024 and soon after he returned to San Diego and joined the SDA team as a Junior Designer in 2025. Michael is motivated by the creative exploration of architecture and how that can bring positive change to people’s lives and local communities.
