Exotic Gardens

This “L-shaped” site presented challenges due to its odd shape and narrow dimension. Providing required parking on-grade was a significant achievement and ensured the economic viability of the project. Above the podium, apartments (both flats and lofts) are arranged around a central courtyard, envisioned as a community gathering spot for tenants. Stairways from the upper floors are routed through the courtyard to ensure it is an active area. Overhead doors in the units further activate the courtyard and expand the unit interiors. The material palette is subdued and includes raked plaster, aged wood siding, and sheet metal panels.
